The Region of Crete and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region signed an agreement on Thursday setting out the terms for collaboration in the sectors economy, trade and tourism.
Members of the Chinese delegation visiting Crete were briefed on the region's products and the development of incoming tourism from China to Crete and Greece in general.
The collaboration agreement was signed by the deputy regional director of Crete in European and international issues, Giorgos Alexakis, and his counterpart Zhang Xiao Qin.
Alexakis said that 100,000 Chinese visited Greece in 2016 for holidays, while 35,000 Greeks visited China. The inflows on each end will be encouraged by the direct Beijing-Athens airline connection, he added.
