Evzones at Bondi beach ANZAC Day dawn service

Evzones at Bondi beach ANZAC Day dawn service

What a remarkable sight! The Presidential Guard at iconic Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia for the ANZAC Day dawn service.

Thousands and thousands of people turned up in the early hours of the morning to commemorate those who served and died in the war for Australia and New Zealand. The large crowd, which is estimated at over 20,000 people was spread all over Bondi beach, coming to a standstill as the Evzones stood tall and proud outside North Bondi RSL club. The attendees were touched by the Presidential Guards who were present to honour the ANZACS.

The Evzones then led and stood beside the Consul General of Sydney, Christos Karras, as he laid the wreath at the memorial.

This year marks 102 years since the first commemoration of ANZAC services in Sydney, and it was a very special service paying tribute to and remembering those who have served in war.
