The 1st Vice President Mr. Anastasios Kourakis met with Archibishop of Zambia and Malawi Mr. John. Present at the meeting were the Diplomatic Advisor of the House, Ambassador Mr. Spyros Theocharopoulos and the Head of the General Directorate of International Relations and Communication Mrs. Panagiota Miliou.
The discussion raised the issues of promoting parliamentary and religious diplomacy as well as the support for the Greek Diaspora. His Eminence Mr. John emphasized to the positive synergies that may arise from the strengthening of ties between Greece and the countries of Africa and the need to support the Greeks living in Zambia. He particularly stressed on the great need for support of the education of Greek children.
Mr. Kourakis noted that the Hellenic Parliament will consider all the necessary steps to establish Parliamentary Friendship Groups with African countries, including Zambia and Malawi, and stressed that the Hellenic Parliament is firmly on the side of the Diaspora, supporting efforts for progress at all levels.
