Permanent Representative of Greece to the United Nations, Ambassador Maria Theophilis, presented her credentials to United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Wednesday, at the headquarters of the Organization in New York.
A meeting followed with the Secretary General, where they discussed the stabilizing role of Greece in the South-East Mediterranean, as well as issues of common interest in the work of the 72nd General Assembly of the Organization, which began on 12 September.
Until recently, Ambassador Theofilis served as Ambassador of Greece to France. She joined the diplomatic corps in 1984, has studied law at Kapodistrian University, and holds a postgraduate degree (DEA) in European Politics and Management from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
