The strong historic ties of the Greek and Russian people and the close ties of Russian monasticism with Mount Athos was underlined by the President of the Hellenic Parliament Mr. Nicholas Voutsis at the inauguration of the exhibition of photographs and engravings "Athos. Mount Athos "organized by the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy (IAO), together with the President of the Hellenic Parliament, the President of the General Assembly of the IAO, Member of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Mr. Sergei Popov and Secretary General of the IAO, Foreign Minister Mr. Ioannis Amanatidis.
