The special award “Europe Theatre Prize” was bestowed to Greek choreographer and director Dimitris Papaioannou in Rome. “His contribution in art is so important that this award is deserved and proper. A well-deserved prize.”, highlighted the award committee’s press release.

The award ceremony was held on Sunday at the Teatro Argentina in the centre of the Italian capital. Internationally acclaimed actors Isabelle Huppert and Jeremy Irons were also awarded for their career and their ability to switch from theatre to cinema and vice versa.
