Fotini of the 2004 Olympic Games at an American University on scholarship

Fotini of the 2004 Olympic Games continues to illuminate with brilliance and knowledge. Fotini Papaleonidopoulou was the girl of the Athens Olympic Games in 2004, which extinguished the flame at the Closing Ceremony of the Games.

The student of Biology at the University of Patras was awarded a scholarship to attend the Watson School of Biological Sciences at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL) in the US.

The Watson School is a leading center for Molecular Biology, a world leader in cutting-edge research, each summer after an evaluation, outstanding undergraduate students are selected who want to study and follow careers in Biological Sciences.

She is the only Greek among 20 undergraduate students who were selected among 800 candidates from around the world to attend courses, seminars and carry out laboratory thesis on innovative topics of Molecular Biology under the supervision of professors from the research center.
