MyConsulLive was put into trial operation on Tuesday for the service through video call of Greek citizens, permanent residents abroad, from the local consulates
of embassies, general consulates and consulates of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The platform was presented through a teleconference to the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis by the competent Ministers of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias
and of State and Digital Governance Kyriakos Pierrakakis.
This is a platform designed by the General Secretariat of Information Systems of Public Administration in the standards of the respective digital appointment
services already provided by KEP, OAED and AADE. Through the service, Greeks abroad acquire the opportunity to conduct their transactions with the Authorities
of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs without physical presence, through a scheduled video call with the competent official.
The process of selecting digital dating and video calling service follows the same philosophy as the already active platforms. Thus, initially the interested
party will enter myConsulLive.gov.gr, will confirm his data through his codes in Taxisnet and then will select the day and time he wishes from the list of
available appointments. At the beginning of the video call the identity will be verified by showing the corresponding document (identity card, passport, etc.)
from the citizen and then the employee will process the request for which the appointment was made.
The services provided by video calling are the following:
· Issuance of a Certificate of Permanent Resident Abroad
· Certificate of marital status or birth
· Certificate of residence
· Copies or extracts of notarial deeds
· Pension beneficiary declaration
· Submitting applications or statements to the Consular Authority.
During the trial period, the service will be provided by the Embassy of Greece in the United Kingdom and by the Consulate General of New York and Toronto. The Consulates General of Düsseldorf, Istanbul and Boston will be added in the near future, as well as the Consulate of Perth.
At the same time, during the presentation of the myConsulLive platform, reference was made to the Virtual Assistant service, which was implemented with the
contribution of Information Society SA and has been piloted at the Consular Office in London and the Consulate General in New York. to all consular
authorities within 2021.
It is a pioneering international level virtual assistance service using artificial intelligence (chatbot), which is interconnected with all existing and planned digital information platforms - service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Provides access to all information - requests submitted to the consular authorities and guidance on how to process them (currently in Greek and English).
With the expansion of the services but also the possibilities that they provide to all the consular authorities, chronic problems are solved through the simplification of the procedures and the image of the operation of the Greek state to the Greeks living abroad is completely changed.
