WHAT IF WOMEN RULED THE WORLD?

Contemporary art exhibitions, in four parts, exclusively dedicated to the work of women artists or artists who identify as female, under the broader umbrella title, What if Women Ruled the World? Initiated by EMΣT artistic director Katerina Gregos and inspired by Yael Bartana’s 2017 neon work of the same name – which is now on display on the North and South façades of the EMΣT building.

The exhibition was organized on the initiative and under the supervision of the Office of Public Diplomacy of the Embassy of Greece in China, with the cooperation of the EOT that provided the material, while it is being held in cooperation with the Municipality of Chengdu and other local authorities and will last at least one month.

From South Africa to Zambia and from Nigeria to Malawi, the largely forgotten Greeks of Africa are of special interest. We discussed with Mr. Antonis Chaldaios, historian and author, Associate Researcher at the University of Johannesburg, about the migratory flows of Greeks in the region, the difficult conditions they were called to face but also the adaptability they demonstrated.
