Dimitris Papaioannou is a candidate for the British theatrical award Laurence Olivier

Leading choreographer Dimitris Papaioannou is a candidate for the British theatrical award Laurence Olivier, in the category of “Outstanding Achievement in Dance” with his choreography for “The Great Tamer”.

His show premiered at Sadler’s Wells in London and received rave reviews, with The Guardian giving it four stars. Akram Khan with “Xenos” and John Macfarlane with “Swan Lake” are also competing for the award. The winners will be announced on April 7, in London.

Dimitris Papaioannou has also launched an audition for male performers for his new work. Interested parties should be between 18 and 45 years of age, they must speak English, have training in movement (dancer, actor, acrobat etc), a solid technique and an excellent physical condition. In addition, they should be available from early December 2019 until July 2022 for rehearsals and performances in Greece and abroad. The rehearsals and the first performances will take place in Athens.

The application must be accompanied by a short CV, three photos (portrait, full-length and full-length with swimsuit), a video link with a recent sample of the applicant’s work. The application must be sent by March 10, 2019 by 6 pm, via email at: auditions@dimitrispapaioannou.com
