The Hellenic Australian Lawyers Association is holding on Monday its inaugural International Legal Conference to in the Greek island of Rhodes.
Australia’s most eminent jurists, including High Court Chief Justice Susan Kiefel, will be present at the opening ceremony which will be held at the spectacular Bastion of the Grand Master’s Palace.
The President of the Hellenic Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos will open proceedings, while the Mayor of Rhodes, Fotis Chatzidiakos, a lawyer by profession, will officially welcome speakers and delegates.
The Australian Ambassador to Greece, Kate Logan, will speak on “The Enduring Australian and Greek Bilateral Relationship”.
Several Chief Justices and Judges of Appeal, along with other international jurists, will speak on a number of different topics, related to the Conference theme of “Contemporary Legal Issues and the Influence of Hellenism”.
