Atromitos fans are in for a treat as Argentina legend Diego Maradona will visit their Peristeri Municipal stadium next month for the upcoming Europa League match against Dinamo Brest, the club he was recently appointed as chairman.
Atromitos entertain Brest in the second leg of the second qualifying round clash on August 2, and there is sure to be a good turnout for the match with the announcement that El Diego will be coming to town.
Maradona - who left his role as coach of Al Fujairah in the UAE earlier this year - was presented as chairman of the Belarusian team at a colourful reception on July 16.
The Argentina legend has been watching the World Cup in Russia this summer, making plenty of headlines as usual.
Brest, who are sixth in the Belarusian Premier League, announced the arrival of the 57-year-old in May.
Brest’s Greek defender Giannis Kargas featured in a photo with Maradona uploaded onto the club’s official Twitter account after the news was confirmed that the Argentine would be coming to Athens with the caption “When you have the chance to get to know such a person".
