The President of the Hellenic Parliament, Constantine Tassoulas, met with the Vice-President and acting President of the World Hellenic Inter-Parliamentary Association (WHIA), Rhode Island State Senator Leonidas Raptakis.

The Chairman of the Special Permanent Committee on Greeks Abroad, Savvas Anastasiadis, also attended the meeting. 

Senator Leo Raptakis also had the opportunity to have a discussion with the General Secretary of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy (ΙΑΟ), Member of Parliament Mr. Maximos Harakopoulos. Mr. Harakopoulos praised the role of the Greek Diaspora in defending and promoting our national rights and informed Mr. Raptakis about the initiatives undertaken by the ΙΑΟ. on raising public awareness of the conversion of Hagia Sophia into a mosque, calling for coordination between the two organizations.
