In what can be seen as further evidence of the significant impact made by the Hellenic community on Australia's prosperity, the King's Birthday Honours list for this year includes a notable presence of 14 Greek Australians from diverse backgrounds.

A Memorandum of Cooperation with the object of recording the oral history of the Greeks of Australia and the creation of an extensive archive, was co-signed by the Minister of Culture and Sports, Lina Mendoni, and the Archbishop of Australia, Mr. Makarios.
