Presentation of the Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program

Presentation of the Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program

A large number of Greek academics living and working abroad wish to return, at least temporarily, to Greece, to work with Greek Universities and to share their knowledge and experience with our country’s students.

This door has been open for two years by the Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program (GDFP) to more than 120 Greek diaspora scholarship recipients from countries such as Canada, South Africa and New Zealand.

The GDFP program will be presented on November 11, at a free, public event at the Book Castle in the building of the National Library of Greece at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). The event will bring together program fellows, who will share their experiences with the audience, and representatives of the organizations behind the program.

The academic exchange program is implemented by the Institute of International Education (IIE) and Fulbright Greece, with support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). It aims to encourage established Greek diaspora academics to teach, collaborate with students, conduct research, and develop educational programs in Greece, promoting mobility of ideas and helping stem Greek brain drain.
