The Institute of International Education (IIE) announced that the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) has been awarded the IIE Humanitarian Award for International Cooperation.

The IIE Humanitarian Award for International Cooperation recognizes organizations that promote global understanding and demonstrate a commitment to causes that advance the vision that launched IIE: a peaceful, equitable world enriched by the international exchange of ideas and greater understanding between people and cultures.

The SNF supported IIE’s launch of the Greek Diaspora Fellowship Program (GDFP), a fellowship program designed to help avert Greece’s brain drain and develop long-term, mutually beneficial collaborations between universities in Greece and the United States and Canada.

The SNF’s receipt of the award will be honored at the IIE Annual Gala on October 15th, 2018.
