Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura held meetings with representatives of the tourism sector for the further promotion of Greece as a popular tourist destination for the people of Saudi Arabia. Kountoura visited the city of Rihad as member of the Greek President Prokopios Pavlopoulos’ delegation.
During her meetings the significant increase recorded in the tourist flow from Saudi Arabia to Greece in 2016 was pointed out following Kountoura’s visit in 2015 in Saudi Arabia and the successful organisation of two workshops aiming at the promotion of the Greek tourist product in the last two years. The discussions revealed the positive prospects for the dynamic increase of the tourist arrivals in the next years.
Kountoura participated in the dinner hosted by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in the honour of the Greek President and the delegation of ministers of the Greek government.
She also participated in broad meeting between the two sides chaired by President Pavlopoulos where issues of bilateral tourist interest were discussed.
