Greece has dominated ‘Europe’s Top 10 Islands’ category again at this year’s Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards, with Paros taking first place, Santorini fourth, Crete fifth, Milos sixth, Mykonos ninth and Corfu came in at number ten.
Travel + Leisure (T+L) is a travel magazine based in New York City, and is known as one of the world’s most influential travel brands. Every year T+L holds their World’s Best Awards survey, asking millions of readers worldwide to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe- sharing their opinions on the top cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more.
In the category of ‘Europe’s Top 10 Islands’, readers rated islands according to their activities and sights, natural attractions and beaches, food, friendliness, and overall value.
“Páros lands the most coveted space on the World’s Best list this year thanks to some of the most glorious beaches in the Aegean and its charming Cycladic villages of whitewashed buildings. Naousa, a traditional fishing town, has one of the most beautiful ports in Greece. Kolymbithres, a beach on the northern coast, is renowned for its unique granite formations. Though everyone who’s been there comes back raving about it, Páros remains undiscovered. As one reader stated, “Páros is a hidden gem.” Said T+L.
