Greek students won seventh place at the 11th World Robot Olympiad (WRO) "Robots and Space," which was held in Sochi Russia. Under the guidance of their coach Mr. Moraitis, the Greek students Stelios Agoropoulos, Alexandros Lessis, Dimitris Eleftheriadis, Iasonas Taoukis and Orpheas Zafiris managed to stand out in a total of 100 entries from around the world.
This is an important distinction since the competition World Robot Olympiad is an event that touches science, technology and education spheres and unites the young people from all around the world.
The teams that will participate in the next Olympiad — taking place in Qatar in 2015 — will be selected at the 7th National Competition, organised by the WRO Hellas in collaboration with the Regional Education Directorates of Greece. The competition will take place in June.
