The World Olympiad of Modern Greek Language 2016 winner of Ukrainian origin, Ms. Anna Vynnyk, PhD candidate at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, welcomed and honored by the President of the Hellenic Parliament Mr. Nicholas Voutsis.
The Olympiad of Modern Greek Language was organized by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the World Youth Coordinating Committee with the support of the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and was held in the framework of the celebration of the Year Aristotle, as with the Aristotle University initiative which was declared in 2016 by UNESCO.
The Ukrainian student excelled among 120 participants in tests carried out at Universities in the U.S., Australia, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Moldova, young students residing outside of Greece competed in the Olympiad and have not lived for more than three months in our country.
The President of the Hellenic Parliament congratulated Ms. Vynnyk on her outstanding worldwide performance but mainly on her true love of our country, our culture and our language.
