Philippos-Ilarion Sytilidis, a student from Thessaloniki, northern Greece has received a full scholarship to attend Harvard University, amounting to 69,000 dollars per year for four years. Philippos, who is currently in his last year of high school, will major in mathematics.
The young Greek student attended a program called “StudiesAbroad,” which prepares high school students for their admission to universities in the United States and Europe without receiving an International Baccalaureate.
Philippos had won the Junior Balkan Olympiad in Mathematics in 2013 with high honors. Furthermore he received a gold and a silver medal in the National Mathematical Olympiad of the Hellenic Mathematical Society “Archimedes” 2013 and 2015 respectively. Meanwhile, he also received a distinction at the National Physics Competition where he won 3rd place in 2014 and the 6th place in 2015.
