Archaeologists wrap up phase one of restoration works on Despotiko

The boat that connects Antiparos to the islet of Despotiko, off the eastern Aegean island’s western coast, sails on a daily basis, carrying archaeologists, architects, conservationists and marble masons, as well as the necessary material to complete the first phase of the restoration of the sanctuary’s Archaic temple and the hestiatorion (dining hall).

The Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament Mr. Nikolaos Voutsis honours the heroine of the National Resistance Lela Karagiannis, on the pedestrian street Tositsa, on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of her sacrifice. The ceremony was part of the Liberation events in Athens from German occupation forces on October 12, 1944.

Eleni Antoniadou excels at NASA

Eleni Antoniadou studied Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics at the University of Thessaly in Greece, and continued her studies at University College London and at the University of Illinois, where she earned graduate degrees in Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine, and Bioengineering and Tissue Engineering respectively.
