The Foundation of the Hellenic Parliament for Parliamentarism and Democracy, issued the fourth consecutive volume of the series “Political Biographies”, dedicated to Themistocles Sofoules, written by Dr. Dionysius Chourchoulis.

This publication attempts to fill an important gap in contemporary Greek historiography, on the political route and the work of Themistocles Sofoulis. As de facto leader of the Samians, he led his homeland in integration with Greece in 1912. From 1914 took over important tasks in the Greek central political scene as partner of Eleftherios Venizelos. Despite his moderate nature of conciliation, he did not remain unaffected by acute tensions, contradictions and polarization which caused the National Schism and the Civil War. Undoubtedly, however, he was a prominent patriotic figure who stood for morality and courage, while he served, under adverse conditions, the parliamentarism as member of the parliament, senator, minister, president of the Parliament and Prime Minister.
