What started as a group of young, talented Greek architects living in New York is now an Institute counting more than 100 members. The Greek Institute of Architecture in New York (GIANY) was founded in 2013 with the purpose of bringing together Greek architects who live and practice in New York. On February 5, the Consulate General of Greece in New York hosted an architectural exhibition by GIANY with designs by 34 architects, whose work has been awarded in various competitions.
These young architects are chiefly professionals working for American companies who originally travelled to the United States for academic purposes. The architectural exhibition "GRE-NYC" will be open until February 20 on the premises of the Consulate General in Manhattan. Moreover, GIANY is preparing a series of future events, inter alia, a lecture by world-renowned architect Elias Zengelis and a lecture by GIANY members at Harvard University in Boston (April 2015).
