Mr. Prokopis Pavlopoulos was elected President of the Hellenic Republic, during a special plenary session held in the Parliament.
Mr. Prokopis Pavlopoulos’ nomination came from the parties of the coalition government, SY.RIZ.A and Independent Greeks. The new President received 233 votes against 30 votes received by Mr. Nick Alivisatos, proposed by the political parties Potami and PASOK
295 MPs voted, while 32 voted "present", and 5 did not participate.
