Contemporary art exhibitions, in four parts, exclusively dedicated to the work of women artists or artists who identify as female, under the broader umbrella title, What if Women Ruled the World? Initiated by EMΣT artistic director Katerina Gregos and inspired by Yael Bartana’s 2017 neon work of the same name – which is now on display on the North and South façades of the EMΣT building.

A Greek woman scientist excels and her contribution is growing internationally

According to an announcement by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the ring was found in 1927, during the excavations of the Italian Archaeological School in the Mycenaean necropolis of Ialyssos, Rhodes, among the offerings of Tomb 61. It was kept in the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes, as well as the whole of the findings from the systematic excavations on the island. During the Occupation and Italian Occupation in the Dodecanese, the ring was stolen from the Museum, along with hundreds of antiquities, most of them coins and jewelry, which are still unknown.

The inauguration of the first natural botanical path in Crete took place in Kavousi, Ierapetra. This is a "Frankish" path of the Venetian period which has been strengthened and upgraded thanks to the Greek-French twinning of the community of Kavousi which opens "bridges" with new data on the organized attendance of Greeks and foreigners in the area. It is a botanical route on the impressive gorge of "Mesona" made by the Alsace-Crete Association with the Mayor of the Alsatian village Stutzheim-Offenheim, which has become twinned with Kavousi.

Greek scientist and professor Spyros Pandis will be awarded the Vilhelm Bjerknes medal by the European Geosciences Union (EGU) in 2021. Pandis, a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Patras, will receive the prestigious award from the EGU’s Atmospheric Sciences Division.

The test was developed by DnaNudge, a new technology company at Imperial College. The co-founder and CEO of the company is the Greek-Cypriot professor Chris Toumazou, electrical engineer and innovative inventor, founder of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of the Imperial. His collaborator, co-founder since 2015 of DnaNudge and leading scientist is the Greek Dr. Maria Karvela, graduate of the Department of Biology of the University of Athens, with a PhD from the University of Glasgow.

"Today's agreement confirms and guarantees the right and influence of our islands on the continental shelf and an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)," Dendias explained, adding that Greek-Egyptian relations are entering a new phase of closer ties. The just and mutually beneficial agreement, he noted, is a model one and important for the entire East Mediterranean.
