Greek Students’ Language Skills Highest in EU

Greek Students’ Language Skills Highest in EU

Greek students’ language competency skills are among the highest in the EU, according to the findings of the 2014 Education and Training Monitor of the EU Commission. Data for 2013 shows that 95. 8% of Greek students learn two or more foreign languages in school, compared to the EU average of 63%.

In addition, the percentage of early leavers from education and training in Greece (age 18-24) decreased from 13.5% in 2010 to 10.1% in 2013, whereas the tertiary educational attainment (age 30-34) increased in 2013, amounting to 24.9% compared to 20.6%.

The Education and Training Monitor is an annual series that reports on the evolution of education and training systems across Europe, bringing together the latest quantitative and qualitative data, recent technical reports and studies, plus policy documents and developments.
