UNESCO has launched Athens as World Book Capital during a formal ceremony on Monday held at the Acropolis Museum attended by the President of the Hellenic Republic Mr Prokopis Pavlopoulos and Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis.

Thomas Cook said Greece was its second most popular destination in terms of bookings (sales) this summer, losing out only to Spain (Balearic and Canary Islands).
