1st Innovation Competition in Virtual and Augmented Reality Technologies

The Foundation of the Hellenic World organizes the 1st Innovation Competition in Virtual and Augmented Reality Technologies in order to highlight and reward original ideas based on new technologies

The Foundation of the Hellenic World organizes the 1st Innovation Competition in Virtual and Augmented Reality Technologies in order to highlight and reward original ideas based on new technologies under the XR-Cosmos program. In the first phase of the competition, interested parties have the opportunity to submit their proposals, for a period of ten days, from 1 to 10 March 2022.

The XR Cosmos Program is implemented by the Foundation's Center for Research, Development and Excellence and is supported by a comprehensive range of initiatives, including collaboration with international fora and organizations, liaison with international research institutions and institutes in the US and Europe, and roundtable discussions.

Start-ups, teams, but also individuals are invited to present their ideas, which will contribute to the development of pioneering systems and applications.

The competition will be held in two phases:

In the first phase of the competition, those interested will have the opportunity to submit their proposals, for a period of ten days, from 1 - 10 March 2022, on the website of the Program www.xrcosmos.gr. The proposals will consist of a presentation which will include the summary of the idea and the solution of virtual or augmented reality that is proposed, the issue addressed or the problem to be solved, a brief analysis of the market it covers and the completion of a short questionnaire.

The proposals that will be submitted will be evaluated by a special committee, which will consist of institutional actors, representatives of Greek and international investment schemes, distinguished executives of technology and innovation, as well as members of the research, business and educational community.

In the second phase of the competition, the winners will have one month to develop their idea by presenting the "original" of their ideas during the event that will take place after the development of the prototypes.

On the same day, the competition committee will select the three winners, who will receive a cash prize and will automatically advance to the final of the grand competition, in which the winners of the individual vertical competitions in the fields of culture, tourism, will also participate. education, health, media and entertainment, which will be announced in the near future.

For the winners of the first Innovation competition, targeted support actions are provided, such as the provision of equipment, the possibility of participating in international exhibitions, joining the Start-up Incubator and the possibility of finding venture capital through contact with potential investors.

The final is part of the parallel activities of the 1st International XR Cosmos Conference, scheduled for September 2022, where researchers, creators, entrepreneurs, investors and institutional actors from the global community will shape the new field of idea development, connectivity and entrepreneurship.
