This Saturday, March 25, 2017 the Acropolis Museum will celebrate Greek Independence Day with free entrance for all guests. The galleries of the Museum will remain open from 9 am to 8 pm.
At 1 pm, the President of the Museum Prof. Dimitris Pantermalis will present to visitors the copy Kore 685 where 100 years ago, the Swiss painter E. E. Gilliéron (1885-1939) added the ancient colors according to the survey of his father L.E. Gilliéron (1850-1924), also a painter, made immediately after the discovery of the sculpture, in 1888 south of the Parthenon.
That evening, at 7 pm, in the hall of periodic reports, will be screened "Dodona. The oracle of sounds ", videotaped excerpts from the musical work of composer George Kouroupos’ "Voice oak". This project is inspired by the oracular oak tree at Dodona.
On this day the museum restaurant on the second floor will serve a "Greek Traditional Dish".
