The MP and Chairman of the Special Permanent Committee on Greeks Abroad, Mr. Alexandros Triantafyllidis, on Wednesday the 15^th of November 2017, at the invitation of the Greek Community of Paris and the surrounding area, visited Raymond Queneau, one of the Greek schools in Paris, accompanied by the President of the Hellenic Community Ms. Seta Theodoridou, the Head of the School Committee, Ms. Niki Papailiaki and members of the Board of Directors.  Mr. Triantafyllidis, after inspecting the classes of the Greek school, then chaired the gathering of the students' parents.  At this meeting he "listened" to the problems raised by the parents and was informed about the housing status of schools.

The main issues that emerged was the timely posting of teachers from the Ministry of Education and the necessity of concluding a transnational agreement between Greece and France for the recognition of the teaching of the Greek language (as taught in recognized ΤΕΓs by teachers seconded by the Greek Ministry of Education) as a foreign language at the French high schools and recognition of staff at the French school. The actions and meetings with French education institutions, which had already begun, should continue.

He then met the teachers, who informed him about the functioning of the schools and about the problems they face. He was also briefed on the subject of experimental teaching of Modern Greek in French primary schools in Paris by the detached Greek trainers as well as the course of this program.
