Two Greek doctors saved the life of a 54-year-old woman who fell gravely ill during a flight between Lisbon and Zurich recently.
Cardiologists Giorgos Angelopoulos and Nikos Spiliopoulos were returning to Greece from Portugal via Switzerland on the Portuguese airline TAP after attending a medical conference in Lisbon.
One of their fellow passengers on the flight to Zurich, a woman of Swiss origin, suddenly suffered a heart attack.
The two doctors sprang into action and worked in unison, using the few medical means available on the plane, and bringing the woman back to life. They were able to stabilize her condition until the plane landed at Zurich Airport, where their patient was transported to a hospital.
It has since been disclosed that the woman is now out of danger, which is undoubtedly due to a great extent to the efforts of the two Greek doctors aboard the airplane.
