It has now been confirmed that Cristiano will sign with Italian champions Juventus on a four-year contract for $157 million. This comes after the Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli flew into Greece to meet with Ronaldo and to celebrate what is one of the club’s biggest signings in its history.
Cristiano has been photographed toasting a glass of champagne with the Juventus chairman, his agent Jorge Mendes and other representatives in Greece.
The ex-Real Madrid player has also published a farewell letter to Real Madrid fans on the club’s official website. In the letter, Cristiano notes “the years I’ve spent at Real Madrid and in the city of Madrid have possibly been amongst the happiest of my life…However, I believe that the time has come to embark on a new chapter in my life and that’s why I asked the club to allow me to move on. This is how I feel and I would ask everyone, in particular our fans, for their understanding…Despite me now leaving the club and regardless of where I am, I’ll forever continue to feel an allegiance towards this shirt, this badge and the Santiago Bernabéu.”
